Writing the BodyMind

In this workshop, Khairani Barokka wil lead participants in a series of creative writing exercises to practice and express attunement with their bodyminds, and possibilities for resistance in their interiorities under colonial capitalism. Readings will include works by Maya Abu Al-Hayyat, Himali Singh Soin, Natalie Harkin and Leanne Betasamosake Simpson. All levels and genres welcome.

Khairani Barokka is a writer, translator and artist from Jakarta, Indonesia whose work centers disability justice as anti-colonial praxis and access as translation. Her most recent books are Ultimatum Orangutan (Nine Arches Press, 2021) and amuk (Nine Arches Press, 2024).
