What do the waters around us teach us when we listen to them? How might rivers & rain, glaciers & groundwater, be the teachers we need in this moment? This writing workshop invites participants to pay attention to the watersheds where they live & to connect the local flows of life-giving water with a love & care for the planet that keeps us grounded.

Rita Wong lives and works on unceded Coast Salish territories, also known as Vancouver, Canada, where she attends to questions of respect for water, decolonization, ecology and climate justice. She is the author of current, climate (2021), beholden (2018), undercurrent (2015), perpetual (2015), sybil unrest (2008), forage (2007), and monkeypuzzle (1998), and co-edited the anthology Downstream: Reimagining Water (2017). She teaches at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
